Small Event Venue Near Houston for Baby Showers, Bridal Showers & Intimate Celebrations

I've always loved smaller gatherings because they give you a chance to actually spend time with the people who came to celebrate with you. You don't necessarily need a huge venue or a guest list with 150 people to make something feel special. Sometimes the celebrations you remember the most are the ones where your closest family and friends are all gathered together in one beautiful place.

That's really what inspired us to begin offering Micro Events at The Little Ranch Farm.

Located in Santa Fe, Texas, between Houston and Galveston, our farm is now available for private celebrations of up to 35 guests. Baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduation celebrations, engagement parties, garden parties and family gatherings can all be hosted here on the property.

And because I've spent years creating and styling photography sets around this farm, it only made sense to take what we already love doing and create another way for people to enjoy this place.

Not Your Typical Event Venue

If you're looking for a giant ballroom, we are definitely not that. 😂 The Little Ranch Farm is meant to feel personal, relaxed and a little different.

Our events are primarily outdoors, surrounded by the trees and all the character of the farm. I picture long tables, wooden benches, a beautiful tent on the lawn, string lights overhead, candles, greenery, florals and all those little details that make everything feel warm and inviting.

If you've seen our photography sets, you probably already know that I love things that feel collected rather than overly perfect. Vintage pieces, natural textures, flowers, candles, old things mixed with new things — that's much more our style around here.

The bonus is that you're also surrounded by all of the photography locations throughout the farm, so when you have everyone you love together in one place, you have plenty of beautiful places to take pictures while they're here.

What Can You Celebrate Here?

Honestly, quite a bit. As long as we're staying within our maximum of 35 guests and the event is a good fit for the property, there are so many possibilities.

Baby and bridal showers were actually a big part of what got me thinking about this in the first place. I started receiving inquiries asking whether people could host showers here, and it made me realize that there really is a need for smaller spaces where people can have a beautiful celebration without renting a huge traditional event venue.

Micro Events can also work beautifully for birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties, graduation celebrations, gender reveals, tea parties, brunches, workshops, girls' gatherings, family celebrations and even smaller corporate gatherings.

And I'm sure somebody will eventually message me with something I haven't even thought of yet. 😂 If you have an idea, ask! As long as it works with the property and stays within our 35-guest maximum, I'm always happy to hear what you're dreaming up.

You Can Do It Yourself — Or Let Us Do the Work

This was important to me when I started putting our Micro Event options together because I know there are two completely different kinds of people when it comes to throwing a party.

There are the people who already have 47 Pinterest screenshots, three totes of decorations and a family group text assigning everyone a job.

And then there are the people who want to show up and have it already look pretty. 😂

So we're offering both.

Our Just Give Me the Farm option is exactly what the name says. You rent the property and bring your own tables, seating, decorations and whatever else you need. If you love putting everything together yourself, have at it!

Our Garden Party option gives you the farm along with the event tent, tables and seating for up to 35 guests, and we'll handle the setup and breakdown.

Then there's The Little Ranch Experience, which is where I get to play. This option includes the farm, tent, tables and seating, but we'll also style the celebration with linens or runners, candles, lighting, greenery, floral accents and vintage or cottage-inspired pieces based around your event and color palette.

If you want to take things even further with fresh florals, balloons, custom signage or specialty rentals, we can talk about those too.

Basically, you can bring the party to us, or you can let us help create it.

A Few Things to Know Before Planning Your Event

Micro Events are available in either 2-hour or 4-hour options and are limited to 35 guests or fewer. The Little Ranch Farm is a private, by-appointment property, so we're not an event venue where random people are wandering around while you're celebrating.

We're also primarily an outdoor event venue, and I want to be really clear about that because I never want someone arriving and expecting a big indoor event hall. That's not what we are. The farm itself is the experience.

We're located in Santa Fe, Texas, which puts us close to Galveston County and within the Greater Houston area. For people searching for a small event venue near Houston but wanting something outside of the traditional banquet-hall setting, that's exactly where I think our little farm fits.

What About Weddings?

Weddings are a little different and have their own collections here at the farm.

If your event includes a wedding ceremony, you'll want to look at our Micro Weddings rather than booking a Micro Event. Our weddings are also intentionally small and designed for celebrations of up to 35 guests, but they have their own setup, pricing and options specifically created around the ceremony and reception.

Micro Events are for all those other celebrations that deserve their own special day, too.

I think one of my favorite things about opening the farm up for Micro Events is that it fits what The Little Ranch Farm has always been about.

This place was never created to be huge or fancy. It's our family property, and over the years we've just kept adding things, building things and finding new ways to make it beautiful. What started as a place for photography has grown into something that other photographers, families and couples have been able to enjoy too.

Adding small celebrations feels like a really natural next step.
