The Piano House: Where a Little Idea Turned Into Something Magical
There are some little corners of The Little Ranch Farm that start with a very simple idea… and then somehow turn into something even better than I imagined.
The Piano House is definitely one of those places.
This little vintage house has been sitting here on the farm just waiting for its moment. With its old piano, aged walls and all of that character that you simply cannot recreate with a backdrop, I knew I wanted to turn it into a photography location that felt completely different from anything else we have here.
And apparently my solution was candles.
A LOT of candles.
Over 200 Candles Later…
Yes. You read that correctly.
There are now OVER 200 LED candles inside the Piano House. 😂
I wanted the room to feel warm, romantic and a little dramatic without losing everything that makes the house itself so beautiful. We added vintage sheet music, greenery and candles throughout the space, while leaving all of that wonderful old character front and center.
Once everything was finished, there was only one thing left to do…
I needed to photograph someone in it!
And THIS Is What Happened
I brought a couple out to model for me so I could finally see the vision come together through my camera, and I absolutely fell in love with this little house all over again.
The candlelight. The piano. The formal clothes. The quiet moments between them.
It felt romantic and cinematic without needing a huge elaborate setup—and it gave us so many different ways to photograph within one small space.

Although I absolutely LOVE the Piano House for couples, engagements and anniversary sessions, don't let these photographs limit your imagination.
I can already picture gorgeous bridal portraits here, dramatic maternity portraits, seniors, quinceañera portraits, holiday looks and even beautiful editorial sessions.
That's one of my favorite things about creating locations around the farm. I build the space, but you get to decide what you're going to create inside it.
